How Oilfields Work - filling an oilfield

In this series of videos we will be covering some of the basics of the oil and gas industry. The first in the series is "Filling an Oilfield" - we use the Murchison field in the UK North Sea as an example, based on a PESGB presentation from 2000.

For success in the E&P business, numerous factors need to line up. Source and migration are two crucial elements that must succeed in order to find commercial hydrocarbons. A mature source rock must be present and migration pathways to the trap must exist.

TROVE North West Europe contains data on Murchison, along with over 1000 other fields and 700 discoveries, across NW Europe.
